Start
the New Year Right in Adult Sunday School
Winter
Schedule begins January 6, 2008
Adult
Sunday School classes meet at Medford Memorial Middle
School from 10-11 a.m. every Sunday morning. Grab
a cup of coffee in the church Welcome Center before
heading over to class. Classes are preceded by a
time of light refreshments and fellowship in the
main hall outside the classroom area |
As
you can see, we have a variety of classes planned for the
Fall session. We hope you will join us for this time of
Christian growth and spiritual renewal.
How do I find the right course for me?
You can simply pick a topic
that interests you. Or, you can think of these courses
in terms of a plan to develop your life as a follower of
jesus Christ.
What do you need to do
in order to take the next step in Christian living?
I need help getting started.
Then look for the course
in the category, "Belonging
to Christ." We try to provide
at least one very basic course each time to provide a firm
foundation for faith, and perhaps a fresh beginning.
I am ready to grow deeper
in faith.
You will find several opportunities
in the Category, "Growing
in Christ." These courses involve
using the Bible to help believers to move toward maturity
in faith and to apply their faith to contemporary issues.
I want to find my place
in ministry.
Since every Christian is
called by God to serve in some form of ministry, you can
use courses in the category, "Serving
Christ," to gain
the skills needed to serve others in Christ's name.
I want to make the good
news known to others.
The category,"proclaiming
Christ," is designed to help Christians to be effective
witnesses to Jesus Christ. this involves carrying out the
mission of the church in word and deed. |

SO THIS IS WHAT IT MEANS TO BELIEVE IN JESUS!
(Belief That Makes a Difference)
beginning December 3rd.
In this Advent/Christmas season we will be Looking at the unique truths God has revealed us by sending his Son into our world. Too often, we look at belief as something that informs our minds, or at best, touches our hearts. Our trust in Jesus is something that also radically transforms our lives; it is belief that makes a difference. We will attempt to apply to our lives the radical truth of God becoming a man and how that was lived out by Jesus; the mystery of humanity taken into the Trinity through Jesus ascension and what that means for our praying and our future; the secret of Jesus, the man, being able to fully live in the power of the Spirit and how we can do the same; and the extraordinary privilege of living in relationship in the same way God is a relational God.
As part of our discussion of these transforming truths of our Christian faith, we will compare and contrast these with the teaching and pracuce of Islam.

Rev. Rick Carter |
Growing Toward Spiritual Maturity
We will focus on the five basic habits every Christian needs to develop in order to grow to spiritual maturity. This class will
- Equip you with the skills you need to begin these habits.
- Explain the tools you need to continue these habits.
Class begins Jan. 6. Taught by Pastor Rick.
This class is the second of Faith Church’s three foundational courses designed to help people (1) get started as believers in Christ and new members of the church, (2) learn how to begin to grow spiritually, and (3) discover their God-given “shape” for ministry. Since these classes build on each other, you are encouraged to attend Discovering Lfe Together (which is our new member class) before taking this class (unless you are already a member of Faith Church). Serving Christ Courses in this category will give you the skills and confidence to engage in ministry. Better Understanding Me, You and “Them” The Scriptures remind us that each of us is unique—different in fundamental ways. That applies to me, you, and them— “them” being our spouse, our kids, our friends, our colleagues in ministry, etc. If we are to get along, serve well together, and find our place in the body of Christ, an important part of all of that is an understanding of temperament.
