Join the Worship Planning Process
Everyone is invited to contribute to the preparation of each weeks worship, including the sermon. And there are no meetings to attend!
Go to http://faithchurch.freeforums.org/ and register as a user. Then you can participate in this online planning process with everyone else. Go to the forum marked A Worship Planning, @ and then find a topic. Once you are registered you can read, comment, and help us make our worship each Sunday better than ever.
Looking ahead in worship:
Next Sunday: We will commission the mission team going to Romania this summer.
The sermon, Who’s Coming to Your Party?, is based on the striking impact Jesus made by hanging out with unlikely people. Summertime is a great time for us to try the same thing. Who is an unlikely person? Someone who is not like you! For Christians this means deliberately nurturing friendships with those who do not have the same faith and world view.
Can you describe a relationship you have developed with someone who does not share your faith and values, where both you and the other person have grown through the relationship? Share your thoughts with others: Log onto the online forum and record your reflections.
Belonging . . . to Christ and the Church
Thank You! We would like to thank Matt Davenport, member of Boy Scout Troop 439 in Tabernacle, for leading a group of volunteers in the fence building and landscaping around the church’s air conditioning unit. This was done in effort to complete his Eagle Scout requirements.
Marriage Announcement: Mary & Jim Frederick are proud to announce the marriage of their daughter, Katharine Frederick, to Michael Bodan. The marriage took place on June 12 th in a small family ceremony in Pennsylvania. The couple plans to host a gathering in New England later in the year.
TODAY Sunday Fellowship—Meet Us On The Patio: Please join us for coffee and refreshments on the patio, weather permitting. If you are visiting today, please stop by the Welcome Area—we have a gift for you!
College Night: All those college aged (including recent high school grads) are invited to join in a book study Thursday, July 9th at the Janusz’s home. We will be taking a look at Bill Hybel’s book Just Walk Across the Room . . . Simple Steps Pointing People to Faith. “If taking ten steps across a room could point someone toward faith, it might just change the way you walk.”
Parents! If you have a child age 4 and up, then we guarantee that you have a child who loves to bang a drum or shake a noisy thing, or bang a drum with a noisy thing—you get the idea! Pat Montenegro will be leading a special summer children’s percussion ensemble. Rehearsals are Sundays at 10am and will last for 15 minutes. We’ll teach your child to make a joyful noise unto God!
Attention Bible Buddies—Throughout the Summer: We will be taking a break this summer from our normal routine. Children may stay in church for the whole service, if you choose. There will be “Quiet Bags” located at the entrance to the sanctuary that is closest to the nursery for your use. If you’d rather have your child (age 3 through those entering 2 nd grade) leave during the greeting time, he/she may also go into the nursery, if the nursery is not too busy. We plan to return to our normal routine in the fall.
Faith Softball: Come out and support our softball team! This week’s games are Tues., July 7 th, 6:30p—Cherokee JV; Wed., July 8 th, 6:30p—Lenape; and Fri., July 10 th, 6:30p—Cheroke Varsity. The full schedule is available at www.leaguelineup.com/faithsoftball .

VBS—140 KIDS TOTAL! Many thanks to Director, Kay Galberg and everyone who gave of their time and effort to make this year such a success! It’s not ending—we will be reaching out to these families in the near future; this will be a great opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives!

Used Bicycles Needed on Loan: Dan Hoyt has many flight students who have been visiting Faith Church who are in need of transportation. If you have a bike that you could loan for 6+ months, please contact Debby Hoyt . This is a wonderful opportunity to minister in a meaningful, yet practical way.
Life Line Screening: Faith Church is hosting the Life Line Screening Radiology’s ultrasound tests on Monday, July 13 from 9am-5pm. Flyers are available in the Narthex and by the Patio doors with full details. Please note, there is a cost involved and pre-registration is required.
Proclaiming Christ to the World
Everybody Loves a Party
This week in his web log Pastor Rick looks at a sub-group in our culture with whom the church has a hard time connecting, yet with whom Jesus was quite effective in bonding. Here is an excerpt:
A There = s a sizeable segment of our population who seem to be self-absorbed, living from experience to experience and seeking pleasure as their highest goal. These people don = t come to church, though some of them used to. What would have to change in the church, and what would have to change within these perpetual party-ers, for them to become followers of Jesus? @
