The picture includes Stephen Ministers, Stephen Leaders, and our pastors. (Left to Right, back row: Sandy Knox, Shirley Martin, Lee Muller, Chris Chandler, Louise Hikade, Ron Knox, Rick Carter, Beth Jacobs; Left to right front & middle rows: Tracy Janusz, Cyndi Pfleiderer, Bob McMeans, Karen McBrinn, Dottie Cooper, Phil Warren, Ila Jane Stiles).  Missing from the photo: Ed Brennen, Linda Westlin, Eleanor Piech, Doug Hikade. These are the members of our Stephen Ministry team.  Our Retreat included review of our ministry vision and "How to Read the Bible for All It's Worth."   This was a time of Christian fellowship, prayer and worship, and increasing our awareness of how to use spiritual and scriptural tools in our ministry with those who seek care.
If you or someone you know is in need of a confidential Christian care giver for a time of loss or need, please contact one of the pastors or our referral coordinators: Karen McBrinn.
If you have questions about this program or feel called to participate in this ministry, please speak with any of us. We would be happy to to explain what we do.

Stephen Ministry –Newly commissioned Stephen Ministers Oct 14, 2007

On Oct 14 these eight new Stephen Ministers were commissioned and they ask for your continued prayers: Jonathan Cohill, Carol Crist, Susan Davenport, Linda Hamilton, Linda Nagy, Bill Redheffer, Sharon Redheffer, Joan Zinader

So far we have completed training modules about feelings and about listening. We have homework and meet weekly to develop our skills. Our goal is to be equipped to meet people God puts in our lives who need care and to understand scriptural basis for caring in a distinctively Christian way.

Previously trained and commissioned Stephen Ministers and Stephen Leaders continue to minister to those in need and meet twice monthly for continued training and peer support. It you are interested in learning more about Stephen Ministry or have a concern for which you need a Stephen Minister, please contact one of us or let our pastors know.

Stephen Ministry Banner – What does the logo mean?

A “broken” person and a “whole” person, one behind the cross, one in front on the other side of the cross. Christ is the center of this ministry of one-on-one trained lay-person caring for a person experiencing loss or pain. Confidential personal care during a crisis assists an individual in their journey to healing. Faith and commitment are critical characteristics of a Stephen Minister.
